Summary

The following topics were discussed and demonstrated during this session. Please make sure these topics are understood before proceeding to the next session. Future assessments may include key topics from this session.

  • All objects in the workspace can be identified and manipulated using the grip handles.

  • Properties of selected objects are found in the Quick Palette and Properties Palette and most properties of objects can be modified within these palettes.

  • The List function can also be used to find the physical, geometric and spatial properties of an object. The ID function is used to identify a specific geographic coordinate in the graphics editor.

  • All objects which are to be modified are first selected, either by means of the grips or by command input, such as Move, Copy etc.

  • Objects which are selected for modification or manipulation can be done individually or by means of a windows (left-to-right) method, or by a crossing (right-to-left) method. Objects can also be selected using L to select the most recently created object in the graphics editor, or P which selects the most recently selected objects or group of objects.

  • The Gizmo is a 3D context selector which is available when a part is rendered using a visual style such as Hidden. It allows objects to be moved, scaled and rotated directionally along the displayed axes.
